I use the popular Android bitcoin wallet app Mycelium http://mycelium.com/bitcoinwallet One of the most important things to do when using bitcoin is to back up the private keys that allow spending from your wallet. Without a backup, if my phone is ever stolen, lost or damaged, my entire bitcoin balance on the phone wallet would be irretrievably lost. To this end, Mycelium has a convenient Backup function that saves the private key to a PDF, which then can be sent to another device for safekeeping.

On my Jolla, when I use this function, it says "PDF document created", but then, when I tap on Share PDF, I get an error: "Unable to load the resource". Also, I can't find the PDF saved in the file system anywhere. What to do?

Side question: Is there any native Sailfish bitcoin wallet, or one being developed?

An answer to your side question: there's one, it' s called bitpurse and can be found on openrepos.net. Probably won't go to Jolla store because it installs also various python libraries. I tryed it myself, but in the end went for Bitcoin app (the official one).

Speaking of Bitcoin app (android), I can backup private keys, encrypt them and upload to remote servers: I was able, directly from the app, to upload to Wuala through the app itself.

Thanks, but there is only a BitPurse version for N9 / Meego, not for Sailfish. The developer's website says "SailfishOS Version is currently in development." But that has been announced a long time ago and the last forum post is almost a year old. I think the Sailfish version has been abandoned.

The developer recently commented on OpenRepos:

"... with all hardware problems I got with my device, and the low confidence I ve in Jolla about openess and their marketing convince me to not devel anymore anything for that plateform."

Too bad, really. If this sentiment prevails among developers, we can write off this platform soon.
