Support for appending a whole album or artist to a playlist or the play queue would be useful. I imagine this would be an option from a context menu appearing if you long-press an album/artist. For consistency, it should probably also be added at the same location for playlists.

Note that it is currently possible to append a playlist to the play queue (while inside a playlist, pulley → add to play queue). It is also currently possible to append the current play queue to a playlist (in main screen, bottom pulley → '+' button).

Currently, appending tracks via long-press only seems to be available for individual tracks, and albums/artists can't be appended in group at all.

+1 for also adding to playlist... If I would have to build Blues playlist with 100 songs I would spend whole day on it in current state of the app.

@JoHe no duplicate here - one is asking for multiple files the other for whole album - different things

It already does this, in an occasionally unexpected way.

To add an album, enter into it so that all the songs are listed, then play any song. That album will be added to the play queue. To add all songs, go to an artist, pully menu to "List all songs", play a song. All those will be added to the play queue (Replacing the previous one, if you want to append to the play queue, good luck with that. You'll be spending a long time.) For a playlist, do the same. Again, replaces existing queue. Appending to the play queue will require each song added manually.

If you meant adding a whole playlist/artist/album to an existing play queue, only way is manually.

Yup, appending to the current play queue or a playlist (as with the individual-track option) is what I meant. Say if I want to hand-pick four albums to play, then ideally I shouldn't have to individually add 50-or-so songs...

@FireFly Yeah, that's the only way. The media player has a lot to improve on. :/

I think the entire idea behind this question is to be able to append an album/artist to the play queue. That you can only do manually, one-by-one at this point.

This should probably have been a comment, as it doesn't answer the question... but yes, they are certainly related. Thanks for pointing it out.

Well, you're essentially asking questions that already exist and no reply has been coming from the Jolla guys so far. People usually close them as duplicate when they're getting aware of it. I made you aware, as you didn't search by yourself. And come on, linking back to your own question is somewhat ridiculous, how old are you exactly?

marsch ( 2014-02-07 23:19:11 +0300 )edit

those questions pull out single questions out of multiquestion items, it was asked the very first week of together to split questions to be able to properly answer and find solutions

@marsch huh? this question is from 24th of december; your question (which overlaps with this one) is from 31th of january. I linked back here from yours because I figure people who end up there by searching might want to know that there's earlier discussion in this older thread. I linked this to your thread since they're not precise duplicates (yours have other questions in addition to this one).
