Since update 5 Paarlampi (where this feature was implemented: "Connection indicator in home screen now supports dual connection of WLAN and mobile data (one connection online, another ready-to-use)") I have problems with internet connection from android apps.

Before this update, that was absolute no problem with connection.

This problem appeared instantly, no matter how long the phone works. As soon as I switch WIFI off , I have no internet connection in some application. Other are working without any problems. Some of them have partials problems.

Here the list of application (include only the most known application, but I have also problems with other ones): - Both application Store officially supported by Jolla: Yandex and Aptoide have no connection to internet at all. - Viber - All google apps applications (I know that they are not officially supported, but still). Google play, for example could show the application, but when you try to install it, it says waiting for internet connection. - Applications, specific to Austria: TV Thek, Oebb Scotty - Even SetDns says that there is no connection as soon as I switch to 3G.

This should be problem with DNS. By I could not solve it too. With terminal emulator I can ping any host by name without problem. When I try to open any site in firefox by name, I can not do it. If I pass ip, the site is open immediately.

I have TMobile Austria as mobile provider.

Other applications, as Instagram for example, are working well (at least with fresh restarted Dalvik).

I know that this question was already asked here, but nothing is helped me. I tried to reinstall android support using mobile internet, no results. Tried to change DNS, but have still the same google DNS. Smart switches in Android also do not help. You just could not switch off mobile connection manually from inside android.

Once more. With Wife connection everything works fine.

I have checked system table from settings.db. It contains wifi_static_dns1 and wifi_static_dns2. with my DNS settings. But there is no entry for mobile internet.

The reason was the google services. Some google applications need them, other use them only if available. As soon as I removed google services, all applications have no more problems with internet connection. Obviously google play does not work without services, but it is not such important.

After some further investigation I have found, that the connection problems have only those applications, that use background services. For example, Google play could not download apps for installation, but you can search and so on; viber send a message, as soon as you go to mobile network, that it loses connection and go back on wifi.

The interesting fact is, that some native android phones have the same problem randomly on some carriers and android versions (something about 4.1.x).

So I believe it will be solved after android support update.

This is a duplicate of https://together.jolla.com/question/51695/bug-android-apps-connection-problems-with-wlan/ There are 2 proposed solutions. Please try them.

No, it is not duplicate of this. I have tried to reinstall everything. It does not help in my case. Even Aptoide have no internet connection, no matter how much time I will reinstall Android support using 3G connection. More other, I have problems with mobile network, not with WIFI.

What do you thin about firefox test? I can made ping for any internet host by name from terminal emulator. But from firefox browser for example, I could not open it. If try to pass ip address, I could open the same host in firefox without problem.

I can remember, that I had this situation on my Desktop many years ago. And at that time the reason was ipv6. It could be the reason also here.
