I have activated both mobile data and wlan from system settings - How to see, which one is actually working at the time and transferring the data?

I am asking because the wlan indicator was not turned on, when I disabled mobile data from settings. Yet the browsing was working, but what data channel was used when the wlan signal strenght indicator was showing no radio coverage?

What about the automatic switching between Mobile data and Wlan how it is indentified and what are the current triggers for switching from mobile data to wlan and back?

Usually there is an upside down triangle for wlan and two triangles into each other for mobile data on your lock screen to indicate what connection you are using. The switching happens automatically when you enter or leave the range of a known wlan access point (it is not completely instant though)

If there was anything more you wanted to ask that is not answered here, please specify in more detail what you'd like to know.

Thanks Philippe for reminding about the lock screen icons.

It seems tha Wlan does have priority over mobile data related to the switching between available data connections. However I wonder does Jolla choose what ever wlan connection, even the available mobiledata would offer better performance?

after running out of battery and after next reboot the indicator icons returned and I am not able to reproduce the behavior again => Closing this post as answered.

Edit 26.08.2014 - 11.05 CET: @Philippe De Swert On my way to work I realized finally what caused my situation.

I mistakenly thought that wlan indicator that is "grayed out" i.e. signal is weak means that wlan is not available at all. This is not the actual case, meaning as long there is the wlan indicator (gray or white) on lock screen the data connection is active using the selected wlan connection.

When active wlan connection is really lost, Jolla will offer selection of the new data connection i.e. another wlan or mobile data.

Would it be good idea to keep always small blink of white to indicate radio signal and thus give impression that wlan connection is still "active" and able to transfer data like in my case?
