I am currently on vacation, staying at a hotel with free wifi. Each day the hotel (for reasons known only to themselves) require you to enter a new login password via a login page. This worked fine for 8 days.

However, as of yesterday my Jolla refuses to display the login page either in the stock browser or webcast, meaning I cannot use the wifi. Note that it happily seems to connect to the WAP itself. Forgetting the WAP, rebooting the phone, deactivating and reactivating WAN and switching aeroplane mode on and off have not helped.

Ifconfig seems to suggest the connection has correctly picked up an Ip address, and DNS seems to be working as well

Other devices (Kindle, iPad and iPhone) continue to work correctly.

Any ideas? Or is this another bug in the wireless stack?

This is why I always have an openvpn server running at home, listening on UDP port 53 ;)

What exactly happens when you open the browser and try to enter just any URL?

And: If you go online with another device, you should see the URL of the login page. Can you open it manually by entering this URL on the Jolla phone?

(Not that any of this is a real solution, but it might help isolating the problem.)

Yep, tried both if those already. Using just any URL fails to connect with Server Not Found error message. Using the login page URL appears to work in that I get the login, can enter the password and it then tells me that it is connected - but. I still cannot browse (again I get the Server Not Found error), and DNS stops working. If I then forget the connection and reconnect to it everything's starts working as expected (the connection remembers I have logged in, so no login page, but I can now browse.)

Definitely not a solution.

Sounds like dns-problems, however.. are you running the latest software 1.0.8.19?

May sound stupid, but: Are you at the same place when you use Wifi on your Jolla? Like, always in the lobby or always at your room? Or do you move within the hotel so that you probably also come within the reach of different access points with the same SSID? The reason I'm asking is that I've experienced all kinds of issues with multiple access points (without login pages, though), so in your case - in a hotel - it isn't unlikely that two distinct problems cumulate and make one hard to debug mess.
