As an engaged app translator I've run in to some serious problem, translating the Jolla word "cover page". Meaning the miniature of a running app, at start page.
I just can't find any commonly accepted translation, so I thought that we could "make up" a suitable translation together. The plain Swedish translation of cover page would be "försättsblad" but that is, as every Swede can see, unacceptable in this context.

Please help me with this rather delicate problem, and give me your best suggestion of what we should call this miniature. Maybe one of you have the obvious answer to my predicament.
My own suggestion is "Startminiatyr", and if you are happy with that, just give it a vote.

Thanks in advance.

I would call it "blänkare", "aktivitetssida", "pågående aktivitet", "omslag" or "platshållare" depending on how interactive each cover page is. In most cases you could then use "-översikt" to refer to all cover pages or a plural form e g "blänkarna", "omslagen" etc.

Couldn't aktivitetssida refer to the cover overview (which I would actually call the 'cover page', and the rest just 'covers') as well? Saying this as a non-native speaker.

@ljo. The problem is that we need an overall term for "app-thumbnail" and not a number of words for the thumbnail, depending on various degrees of interactivity. "Aktivitetssida" is ok for the cover overview, as nthn is pointing out, but we already have a standard there, set by Jolla dokumentation itself, namely "start page" or "home page" (don't think I have to translate that into Swedish). That is also the main reason why I want to name the thumbnail "Startminiatyr".

Programminiatyr maybe, i guess that there's some swedish speaking personel at Jolla so lets hope they can answer. The N9 had better naming for the screens and was easy to translate and it also had a swedish manual. Jolla has names for things that's harder to translate and i guess it's like that for many languages and not only swedish.

"Programminiatyr" is not bad. I could live with that.

I think "Appminiatyr" is better than "Programminiatyr" shorter and easier to say.. Maybe "Miniatyrsida" could work?

Although it wasn't very many people that voted, I have decided that from now on, I will use "Programminiatyr" in my translations. Time will show if there ever is going to be a better and more "official" translation. Thanks all, for your interest and kind suggestions.
