Well, 'receiver' is what CSD calls it.

Basically I was listening to music through headphones when a call came in. I pulled the headphones, but sound did not switch back to the internal speaker as it normally does (and which had been working fine only 40 minutes before).

External loudspeaker works fine, headset playback works fine, but the internal speaker (receiver) does not work at all.

This seems to differ from most of the similar sounding reports I've found here on TJC, where it is the external speaker that has failed.

Any thoughts?

I have the same problem. The "internal" speaker stopped working after I used and then unplugged a headset (well, just headphones this time). The "external" speaker works ok. First time it happened, I got it working again by a combination of restarting, connecting a bluetooth headset and playing with volume stuff in settings.

Now it happened again (again after using headphones), but nothing seems to help: I tried restarting, running the tests in CSD, connecting wired and bluetooth headsets, restarting pulseaudio,...

Any ideas what can be done? Can it be maybe manually toggled by some pulseaudio option or some other utility?

Please, help me! ;-)

Fixed itself after running sequence of CSD tests and restarting pulseaudio

I have had the same problem three or so times now. Solved it the first times by rebooting / plugging in and out the headphones or something, but now nothing seems to restore the sound to the receiver. I've run the CSD tests, where only sound to headphones works. During a phone call the external speaker works too, but not in the CSD test. Receiver does not work at all.

I would not want to enable the developer mode to fix this. If it's pulseaudio failing, I really hope it's going to be fixed soon...

Could it be hardware problem, headphone jack doesn't detect plug removal?

Receiver started to work again after a couple of hours without any real corrective action from me. I did however listen to music and made phone calls with the headphones. Maybe one of the plug removals was detected?

Have you tested with the receiver test in CSD (dial *#*#310#*#*) > individual tests without the headphones connected and you don't hear music??

If yes you should most likely contact care.

Yes, I've done CSD. All speaker tests apart from 'receiver' work fine.

Contact care. They'll get your phone fixed. Nothing else to do.

Au contraire. After running the CSD headphone insertion test and all the speaker tests, sound is restored to the receiver.

I also killed and restarted pulseaudio. Not quite sure exactly which step fixed things though. But I'm happy with the result!

I ran into this issue totoday. I ran csd tests and headset detection passed, while testestesttes receiver didn't play anything through receiver, but when plugged headseheadsetv it played through it and after disconnecting headset it played through bottom speaker. I tried to reboot, or eveeven remove battery but no luck - no sound from receiver. How do I restart pulseaydio?

I am facing this problem for almost 3 months. I had tried all the above methods but couldn't get back sound through receiver.
