How to get OwnCloud 7.0.2 working?

Hi there,

I read in several topics that people got OwnCloud 7 working but I did not find a clue how. It used to work until OC 6 but it stopped with the release of OC 7. I always get an Sabre\DAV\Exception\NotAuthenticated: No basic authentication headers were found when I try to sync. If I try to connect using SyncEvolution I get an Object nor found (remote status 404). OC 7 is installed on my local server and I access it via WiFi and without SSL. How did you get around these errors?

Thanks

For me the sync behavior has not changed from Owncloud 6 to 7. Still most of the time the sync is unreliable but it also does work sporadically.

Same here. Setup caldav with owncloud works, but after that nothing happens.

Jolla, please take a simple use case: a regular unlike user wants to sync his/her contacts etc data to eg an owncloud server ... Pointers documentation? Pointers in the involved apps (People, Calendar)? Ah! You need to create an account in settings (very developer-centric logic). Oh, it's only for calendars. I don't see a sync function in my calendar. Oh, I have to sync from within the settings/accounts app (very developer-centric logic). :-( it doesn't work, no errors, tons of discussion on this forum. Where to start? .. I only wanted to sync my contacts. You need SyncEvolution for contacts, but it is not allowed in the store, so you need to install it yourself using the terminal. Giving up.

I am posting these critical comments because I want Jolla and Sailfish to remain successful. If you implement sth, do it user-centric and keep it simple. After all that's what the Sailfish GUI is all about! Thanks.
