Yesterday everything worked fine, I did photos and videos. Today -:-( The "camera" starts, but the screen is dark, the button "snapshot" is not available. In the center of the screener briefly displays a warning: "!"

Please check this: Open Terminal and in root type the following command:

pkcon remove jolla-camera [hit enter]

Then accept any changes (y). Reboot your Jolla. Open Terminal and as root type:

pkcon install jolla-camera [hit enter]

Reboot your Jolla again and check if the camera works. If not, phone reset may be needed.

I need to enable "developer mode"?

Hi @Kake41, and welcome along. Please, when giving this type of answer, inform that it requires Developer Mode and explain what the commands do exactly, as commands given in terminal might affect phone's warranty.

In this case, first commands removes all camera software from the phone and second one installs the same software back. Depending on the reasons why the camera isn't working, it might not fix the issue.

Sorry, I didn't mention that it requires Devel Mode enabled. I had that kind of problem before and the above commands fixed my problem...

In any case try rebooting first, the QC camera HW sometimes gets confused.

Alas! It did not help :-( only one variant - a master reset?

Performed "cleaning operation" ("Reset"). No result. Not a pleasant surprise-(

It looks to me like I have the same camera issue. Removed jolla-camera and installed it again, rebooted few times and non of this worked. Camera ui doesn't respond so I can't tell if front camera works in my case. I had similar problem about week ago when camera app kept crashing whenever I wanted to launch it. Reboot solved the problem but now it seems to be more serious. Any ideas of what can be the problem ?

Edit 1: Front camera works.

Edit 2: My battery got dead so jolla turned off. I plugged it into wall charger and turned on. To my surprise camera worked again. I made one picture and closed the app. Next time I wanted to use camera the problem went back. I'll try to do reset just to be sure it's not software issue.
