Having detailed mobile data statistics would be pretty usefull for those, who have to careful with their mobile data usage.

Android does this pretty okay:

  • List up how much data each app chewed away (edit: or maybe only the big ones – no one cares about 3kB of one app tbh)
  • Issue a warning after a configured amount
  • Reset the amount of transferred mobile data at a specified date
  • Have a full stop after another specified rate, to avoid costs, which has to be "signed off" to continue usage

actually I care about the 3kb. For example, I want to see when the QR-Code reader transfers somethign – it should not send my scans somewhere (yes, first we need a scanner^^). Besides that, the current setting for me only needs an "reset on every 21th of the month" (where the "21" is configurable)

Yes mobile data does need improvements. I am not on contract but on pay as you go. Managing my mobile data is very important.

...and do the above separately for home and roaming network ;-)

Mobile data transfer is being reported, while it is switched off. Tested several times. Also had 360 MB transfer on one day. Cannot trace which app was responsible... I find this quite worrying.

To have a list of all apps with transferred mobile or wifi data is also a needed feature as long as a security framework is missing.

A feature for all apps and processes having to ask for permission to connect via mobile data/roaming. Esp. when abroad, I only want the chosen app to use mobile data, excluding any other processes/apps (eating out of my wallet).
