Alien dalvik softbuttons hiding app on-screen buttons

I installed an Android app called Mapitare.

The app seems to work on Jolla excluding the fact that some of the app's buttons are underneath the Dalvik's soft button bar (screenshot below). This could be fixed by setting the soft button bar to stay on permanently and the app showing only on the visible area. How can I change that behavior? image description

Hello, under /opt/alien/system theres a file called build.prop

Open that as root and find a line that says something alone the lines of start-system-ui.

Set that to false.

Restart

Profit

But this will disable it for all applications

Thanks for your response! That could be a temporary workaround, but I do need the back button for other Android apps.

Can I somehow set the back button always visible and let Android apps only use the screen area that's left? Is there some kind of manual for settings in build.prop?

Google should help you there, the build.prop file is just an Android settings file that can be found on an actual Android system. Some Android developers can have the buttons hide when not in use, e.g. games, but they have to use it explicitly
