Currently, when the Jolla security code is activated, the user has to swipe down to the main screen in order to type in the code. This means that the pulley-menu shortcuts on the lock screen are effectively useless.

To use them, the user has to : 1/ double tap to access lock screen 2/ swipe down to type in the security code 3/ swipe up to return to lock screen 4/ pulley down to access the shortcuts

A better unlocking process would be : 1/ double tap to access lock screen 2/ type in the security code (digits displayed on the lock screen) 3/ pull down to use the pulley-menu shortcuts

I thought about this, personally i think it would be better if you could just swipe to the pulley menu shortcut first, THEN you enter the lock code (a la N9). This way it wouldn't intrude your homescreen when you want to just check notifications rather than unlocking the phone.

The rather official answer from jolla on this topic will be "this breaks with the purpose of a lockscreen" - ad's idea of having the pulley items accessible and ask afterwards for a code can be rephrased as "have all actions on the lock-screen like if it is unlocked but ask for a code entry after triggering a specific action"

I agree the pulley-menu shortcuts should not be accessible if the security code has not been typed in.

I am saying that the digits should be displayed on the lock screen (where time and notification are displayed), so that the users do not have to slide down to type their security code.

At the the moment they have to double tap, slide down, unlock the phone (type in code), slide up, pulley. It means that users never use the pulley-menu shortcuts. I even considered deactivating the security code because of this.

The target should be : double tap, unlock the phone (type in code), pulley.

you are getting it wrong, there must not be a code-entry on lock-screen! procedure should be double-tap>pulley>lock-code>$item-from-pulley-opens

OK this could also be a solution.

At the moment it cannot be done : if the Jolla is locked the pulley-menus are inactivated.

There are pulley menu options which could be used even if the phone is locked. At the moment, the 'Silence sounds' option is the only one, but others might be added in future versions.
