My cell carrier is Wind, it operates on the following frequencies

2G 1800MHz

3G 2100 (now some areas have 900)

4G 800 (few towers have 2600 too)

in fact I noted that in many situations I have a better 4G signal than I used to have when on 2G or 3G. in general the 3G signal is the weaker to get into buildings due to its higher frequency. 4G is the better

few days ago I was in a building where Jolla had the following coverage:

2G: 2 bars

3G: 0bars but "wind" name, meaning some faint reception

4G: 3 bars

when I entered the building I was in 4G but then I received a call and therefore the phone connected to 2g. for the next three hours I was in the building the phone stuck on 2G even if it was on a desk on the same place of when it had 4G.

Every morning when I turn on the phone it always connects to 2Gnetwork, then it switches to 3G and then to 4G. it always follows this path.

My guess is that Jolla doesn't look for 4G network unless is connected to 3G.

This problem still occurs in Uitukka.

I work at a location where my carrier Saunalahti (Elisa) has a very weak 3G signal. If I have prefer 4G (or 3G) selected from settings, Jolla is stuck in a loop where it occasionally switches from 2G to (unusable) 3G and back. 4G connection is never established even though the signal level is good.

To prevent those useless hops between 2G and 3G I have 2G only mode selected from settings and I have used Penguin's Radio Switcher from OpenRepos to force 4G when ever I need data connection.

But that isn't an optimal solution because circuit switched fallback won't work when LTE is forced on using the Radio Switcher and that may lead to missed calls.

@c.la problem also occurs on Intex Aquafish 2.1.0.11 . In the US my SIM tmobile used to work gine with 3G, 4G, now all i am getting is 2G.

Whats the fix?
