After a summer full of 'light' I have noticed that the major hardware weakness of Jolla Device is the AMOLED screen under sun shine! So I would ask to Jolla staff if is possible, with a payment, to send ours phone to Jolla care for make an hardware adjustment: insert a transreflective layer between screen and LCD!

Should be a possible idea??

The Jolla has an IPS screen. I think the readability of the screen in direct sunlight would be really nice with an AMOLED screen - so we can hope that Jolla 2 has an AMOLED screen. :)

It would be nice to have an AMOLED screen replacement for Jolla 1 as well.

the trans-reflective screen has to be inserted between the LCD / AMOLED layers, i.e. between the pixel matrix and the back of the LCD/AMOLED and as far as I know those are glued with the polariser layer from factory. So unless you replace the whole screen with a brand new trans-reflective / AMOLED one, there's nothing else you can do about it...

but I like the idea of having an AMOLED replacement since I just cracked my regular one and the only way to fix it is to ship it to Finland :)

I think Jolla is far from HW model 2 yet. Sailfish has only basic phoning functionality, they still have loads of stuff to improve before launching another, even less supported HW model
