An app to edit Jolla contacts on a PC. [not relevant]

Roundcube looks ok and is also available for my Synology but for end users it's still to many steps.

For example, my girlfriend has no technical experience and has no feeling with computers an so on. So for her, it needs to be simple and very very logical.

Apple understands that need and therefore everybody can work with an Iphone or Ipad. With good old Nokia's we could use PC-suite or Ovi-Suite for editing contacts. I haven't found the perfect solution for Jolla yet.

There is something strange in that vcf file. Neither kcontacts nor thunderbird opened the file properly. They found names but only some of the numbers.

Ok, I suppose it depends what you mean by easy. I do all my editing in ubuntu: Jolla, usb cable, directly copy from A, edit, copy back.

Let's assume not everybody uses Ubuntu and the mass uses Windows and is non technical. It must be easy and "Iphone" simple.

A solution would be needed. Not everyone of us is going through their 300+ contacts once a week to update or clean them, but there are some usecases out there: https://together.jolla.com/question/55547/leaving-the-ship-what-about-registered-devices/#55679 And editing large sets of contacts on device is tedious.

There was once a good application for OSX where you could do this over bluetooth, called BluePhoneElite, which is no longer maintained. It could also start and answer calls from the Mac and read and write SMS. It featured a small bluetooth daemon which lived on the phone (Symbian) and which was used to communicate with the desktop application.

How could this be implemented again? You would need a baground-service programm on the Jolla to listen for incoming bluetooth or network connections. Then this daemon would need to know how to read and write to contacts.db or how to communcate with /usr/bin/contactsd ?
