Greetings !

My Jolla's speaker seems to be having issues. Sounds work with headphones on, and I can answer calls without a headset. But sound notifications, alarm, ringing, playing music... all of that just doesn't work.

I am almost entirely sure the hardware isn't broken: sometimes, the phone rings... it's very rare (happened a couple of times over the last 3 months).

I've tried everything that came to mind: even factory reset doesn't fix the issue. Is it possible that there's a

use the csd tool from terminal, (or go to your phone dialling app and dial: ##310##), it should include tests for the phone speaker. Contact care@jolla.com if csd tests fail.

I ran CSD, and the test failed... does that mean I have to send back my Jolla ? Because it literally just came back from another repair a few hours ago... I don't want to get on their nerves :D !

I do not know the reason you had to sent your phone for servicing the first time. I would be annoyed with the repair centre, failing to test phone thoroughly before sending it back to you.

That really looks like a hardware failure. I guess speakers never worked since you got it back? I got my phone back with a non-working camera (had to send it in because of speaker and SIM card problems). I took the phone apart and saw that the camera module wasn't connected anymore to the mainboard. Works fine now, but I don't recommend it since you void your warranty (plus I somehow broke one of the screws).

While I think that Jolla Care does an amazing job, it seems some phones slip through quality testing at Optima service. Contact Jolla care again and explain the issue - good luck :-)

There is another question to this topic: https://together.jolla.com/question/39900/no-sound-through-speaker/

For me zlstko's answer solved this problem. Did you try some taping and squeezing the phone in the speaker area while playing some music?
