Hi, I am from India and i received the VIP Box along with the purchase. The phones touch started acting weirdly after 12 days of purchase of the phone. It calls automatically if i open the call log. If i open a message for typing, it types or deletes letters automatically., and if i open a music player, it fast forwards and rewinds music automatically. I am totally unable to operate the phone now. I tried reset 2 times, but phone is behaving the same.

Does anybody has similar issues? Jolla refused for a refund or replacement. I am just stuck with a dead phone in my hand. I heard that there are not even a single service centres for Jolla in India. Any help guys...

Sorry your phone is having so much trouble. :(

Would you say the "sporatic screen presses" are all happening in the same general spot on the screen? (It sounds like they are from the behaviour you described.)

Sounds like a full reset is required - at least this is what I would do, seeing as Jolla are not offering the help you require.

See this link for instructions on how to reset your Jolla if your using Windows/Mac/Linux - all is laid out for you to follow, I hope this helps you out; (I know the title of the link may not seem relevant, but please read). - and scroll down to "Windows 7 and Mac users: How to to solve the Jolla "reboot loop" / "phone is stuck" problem" for instructions.

It is possible there may be other ways to make your phone live again, but by resetting the device, you will gain experience and when or if you ever have to reset again - you will know how - good practice I think! :)

p.s. There are no service centres in the UK either, which results in sending back to Finland, you're not alone Vinoodd.

I tried the full reset but the handset has the same issues. It seems like thats happening every where i.e : in the landscape and portrait mode the same errors are visible. But the handset is not dead. I can operate it, but the error comes back. Another issue i had with it earlier is the hanging issue. The phone goes hangs if its not been operated for a long time. Like morning alarms and incoming calls when the phone is idle for a long time. The phone also heats up very much on very little usage in WLAN or on general operation. One can feel the heat if we touches the top portion of the phone., i.e. where the speaker and camera lies. I feel it little awkward that they open sales all over the world without starting service centers. :\
