Missing messages from both Facebook and Google

I noticed that messages sent to me on both Facebook and on Google hangouts/chat are not arriving in my jolla messages app.
I have not noticed any logical pattern. I saw other people having similar issues with Facebook (didn't find anything about google though) but only when using Facebook on multiple interfaces but I experience it even if I only use the messages app in Jolla and no other interface.
Is XMPP used for these perhaps? Or how are the messages captured/fetched? My jolla keeps bouncing my presence details back and forth between offline, avaliable and away on its own.
I would really like to recieve everything in my cell and not have to worry that Im missing important messages.
