When having a problem with application installed to Jolla phone, please provide following information:

  • Description of the problem
  • Steps to reproduce it (if you are able to)
  • if suitable, provide screenshot (you can install really easy to use screenshot app "screenshot" for this purpose)
  • Sailfish OS version
  • Where did you install application from and if it's native or Android one.
  • Application version

This will help Jolla sailors a lot when they are investigating issue you have faced. It also helps community members to provide their experience or test by themselves.

Is TJC the best place for app bug reports ? Wouldn't it fit in the jolla app store, somehow, for example ? I'm just worried that we would quickly lose track of the problems, and also that the app developers may miss an issue related to their app.

Does the system support adding a template or fields to fill?

If that is possible, it could be implemented by having a tickbox (similar to the wiki) for "bug report" and when ticked then the template would be pre-filled. The user then would be guided on what information to add.

We are working to get issue reporting easier for users. Personally I like TJC, as it's not so "tech savy" than most of the bug tracking tools are, leading to average users adding comments, testing and reporting. Which I consider as true DIT attitude. Several sailors, including our test engineers are following TJC. Hopefully we don't miss any reports. What comes to informing app developers, users can add comments to Store applications and by doing that provide info to developer. From TJC we (sailors) investigate issues and if app is installed from Store, we also contact developer if there's something wrong in app itself.
