the device is not even restting in recovery mode , it says that the recovery image is too old for doing a recovery.

Seeing as the device is not responding to Jolla Recovery and assuming you have tried all available options within recovery, then it sounds to me like you best get in touch with Jolla and arrange to send it back for repair/replacement.

There are a few questions across the forum, with Jolla phone exhibiting similar problems and it seems that return for repair/reflash is the fix. I could be wrong.

Perhaps to try Jolla Recovery once more?, I say this because updating the OS can turn out in failure the first go and then after much sweat and tears, the update decides to take and the phone is once again working as it should.

At least if you exhaust all possible avenues as an end user and nothing is working, then it needs to go back to Jolla. care@jolla.com and/or https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us

I hope you get sorted soon.

i live in india and its hard to get the phone to UK ..

@Ghost - I imagine posting from India is not without problems, but what choice do you have if the phone will not work correctly?

Posting the phone to the UK?, why UK?, did you buy from Amazon UK or something?

i bought it at snapdeal an indian online market... i called them .. they gave a service center number. i gave the phone to them. they didnt even know it was a sailfish os.. ithought that they would have understood it. but still. now i have told them and explained everything that ihave to be clear about the phone and told them that i have no where in my place to go and repair this device. since snapdeal gave me your number. i came to you. and they told that they wll charge for the device that they are going to sort.

i coldn't even claim my warranty there :( i am in a really tight situation :(

Hmm, tricky situation. Snapdeal is where you bought it, Snapdeal should sort it out and if they cannot sort it out, it should go back to Jolla. I still say contact Jolla either at zendesk or by email, at least you may find out how to proceed as I am fast running out of ideas on how to help you and I don't see anyone else here answering your call.

I hope you get sorted very soon.

i had this when my phone was new. i did a factory reset as described here https://together.jolla.com/question/22079/howto-all-computer-users-recover-or-reset-a-device-that-is-stuck-in-boot-loop/

i know that this step looses all data but this is better than haveing no phone to use
