Is Jolla Launcher for Android abandoned? It's been almost half a year since Jolla released the Alpha and we didn't get Beta on August, now there is even no news about it.

The recent-released angry birds launcher has the version 0.4.1, I guess that may be very close to the progress of Jolla launcher. The transition on 0.4.1 birds launcher seems to be a lot smoother than 0.2.1 Jolla launcher and more stable. But will we get an updated Jolla launcher at the same progress WITHOUT angry birds stuff? Will there ever be a Beta release?

Looking forward to trying Jolla launcher without birds! ;)

Edit: Seems it's abandoned... As no one comes to tell us if it is in development or not.

Edit2: Very likely Jolla has "sold" or licensed Jolla Launcher to Rovio. Or Rovio paid/sponsored to make it Angry Birds exclusive. Personally I think the silly birds ruined such a nice product which may bring Jolla/Sailfish to millions of Android users. Now it's just a cheap and silly looking angry birds by-product. Shame...

That ist really sad! The Stella Launcher causes a lot of restarts and does not work proper on Galaxy S3. Every time afeter closing a game or other apps The Launcher restarts. A good project killed by that stupid NSA featured bird game... :-(((

It looks like both Jolla Launcher and Stella Launcher are abandoned. The application (com.jolla.launcher.stella) does not exist anymore on the Android app store.

From the Jolla blog (https://blog.jolla.com/from-2014-to-2015/):

Jolla Launcher transformed into Stella Launcher

Back in Mobile World Congress 2014 we announced that we will soon offer the Sailfish OS experience as downloadable software to devices running Android OS. In the spring we put out the first Alpha version of the Jolla Launcher, and asked our community to start testing it. To our positive surprise over 13,000 people informed us that they’re interested in trying it out on their Android devices. With a part of this group we continued the testing process and learned a lot.

Later in the year we partnered with Rovio to produce a Jolla Launcher version with Angry Birds Stella branding. The ‘Angry Birds Stella Launcher by Jolla‘ was first released in Chinese app stores Taobao and UC, and in Slush 2014 we made the launcher also available though Google Play Store and Amazon.

The title of that section would make me think the Jolla Launcher really has just become an Angry Birds launcher, but then the actual text just says they partnered with Rovio to make a different version of the Jolla Launcher (which I think would imply the original version is still begin developed).

I would definitely like to know the actual status of the Jolla Launcher, and hopefully have a new version of it sometime as well.

I'd also like to know the status if the actual launcher. I could give a crap less about a stupid angry birds game...

Even no news or mention at Slush? They don't bother to even answer it?

@digitaldk That is not a answer, please revert your text into a comment.

Is there ever going to be any kind of update to either the Jolla or the Stella launcher?
