Bug - Phone Numbers with punctuation pre(su)fix doesn't offer dialing option

I agree with you that this is something that needs fixing (voted it, too) and sure it is annoying to face it each day. However, I don't think that you will get it fixed any sooner by artificially keeping this topic on top (you said it yourself that Jolla has already acknowledged this issue). :)

Voted for this cause it appears also elsewehere that the number recognitition does not work properly .. You might want to edit rge title and description accordingly that would show in which system apps this issue is present (Messaging, Email, .. etc).

@zarimsan - Thanks for the vote and empathy shown. I know this is undesirable and artificial bumps is not good behavior. I raised it in IRC ~3 months ago and in my limited understanding of s/w this is not a difficult / time-consuming fix. At least this specific fix. I haven't seen an update since on this thread - I was told that TJC question will be ack'ed. Surely, it won't take much time to specify ETA for a bug fix. This was the only way I found to bump the priority. It is frustrating to put so much efforts / faith here and not to see results. I try to spend most of my leisure time in FOSS based projects. Am regular contributor in Linux Mint community too. @jjaone - I shall update title accordingly.

Oh, you probably should've said it immediately that the IRC contact was so long time ago - I thought that it was, like, last week or so, and you just can't wait for the fix. :) Indeed, one would expect it to be an easy fix (just come up with a good regular expression to catch anything that even remotely looks like a continuous string of numbers).

I find your plan of artificially bumping this question up every day unfair, and quite selfish as well. I understand that the issue has an effect on your everyday life, and thus is quite important to you, but by bringing it to the top daily you're making it seem more important here on TJC than it really is. What if everybody else with unresolved or unacknowledged issues would start doing the same? Jolla probably has a ton of bugs to check and fix at any given moment, and I don't think they'll re-prioritize them on a whim...
