I had the issue, that connections to the jolla store failed after setting up my new jolla phone for the first time.

Here are the steps that helped: (with a lot of help from #jollamobile on Freenode IRC)

  • Factory reset your phone
  • Go through setup but do not connect to a jolla account or any accounts at all
  • Connect to your wifi
  • Add a valid jolla account
  • Go to Settings -> System -> About and check for updates
  • Download & install

I got my jolla phone two weeks ago. Guess, I was luky: Because of problem https://together.jolla.com/question/2285/wlan-not-enough-time-to-enter-a-password-for-ssid/, I could not create a jolla account from jolla phone setup. ;)

So, I created my jolla account from my desktop PC and entered the login data later on my jolla phone.

I, too, got a jolla phone with (Ohijärvi). But I did not have to make a factory reset. (But maybe this is necessary, after you "crashed" into this bug.)

Many thanks! This worked for me. I had already upgraded to successfully, factory resetting restored to, followed procedure above (except I used mobile data instead of wifi) and then the store worked.

I would like to add that prior to factory-resetting I was able to browse apps in the store, but when trying to install it jammed for some minutes in the "Installing" step after which it failed and left a note in the events view. Similarly enabling developer mode did not work, it too failed to install the apps that are installed as part of the enabling of developer mode.

I had the same problem with a brand new phone. Tried several times without any luck. Until I switched from wifi to mobile data, then it went smoothly on the first try.
