Since WMA is a patented codec, Jolla didn't include support I guess. I try to avoid this format. Ideally though there should be support, so community can come up with alternative repos. May be someone will build VLC or mplayer for Sailfish?

In general, if you encode audio straight from the CD, avoid such weird formats like WMA. I myself encode in Ogg/Vorbis (Sailfish suprorts it) and lately in Opus.

wma is a proprietary codec from Microsoft. While many Linux distributions embed the capability to read a WMA, Jolla, as a commercial company, have to license the codec. And Jolla didn't did this.

Prefer a more widely used codec, such as mp3, or an open-source one, such as ogg, for your music.

how many device support ogg ? Only few compared to large mp3 , wma and aac codec Hope Jolla thinking support wma, aac, etc or better add directly vlc media player as native app.
