Hello! Something that always worries me is the possibility for dust to get into the device, especially because of unprotected ports, Since this is a feature that I miss with my Jolla Phone, I would like to see Jolla's future devices, starting with the Jolla Tablet.

Here is an example for the unfortunate ones that has not yet owned a device which incorporated this simple but effective feature for prolonging a devices longevity and possibly lowering the need for costly warranty service:

Sony experia V

Xperia x10 mini

Sony Xperia Z1

I don't like the flaps, they get in the way and are just a general pain in the ass.

Such flaps would pretty much be a dealbreaker for me. Ultimately annoying until they snap off.

Those "flaps" always tear off and get lost. Doesn't matter if it is hard plastic or rubber. If you're not in a dusty desert or cement factory, you really don't need them.

Most of these usually break off if they are hard plastic. It would be possible to use rubber like on cameras and handheld GPSs which would also be partly waterproof, but it is more hardware to design. I don't know if this has already been siuggested, but what about releasing detailed 3d Case design documentation to make Jolla truly open source hardware which would allow anyone to easily design and print their own addons and cases? There could be an online repository for everyone's designs.

Not only do these break off, people used to rip these off because they get in the way (need to pry them open and then fight the cable in).

Jolla Roadmapping Meeting - Friday 16.01.2015

Thank you for your contribution to the Jolla Tablet project!

We receive a lot of ideas and suggestions, which we are grateful for, but all of them can't be implemented. We've reviewed your idea and unfortunately it is not something we can implement, at least right now.

However, we will keep all suggestions, and might revisit this decision in the future if we see an opportunity to implement this feature-request in an upcoming product/SW release.

Best regards,
The Jolla Tablet Team
