I suggest that to improve multitasking even more, the following feature should be added to the app switcher (home screen):

  1. When long pressing, show the (X) as currently
  2. Now, you can drag any of the apps and drop it on another cover of an app.
  3. This would initiate a "split screen app view", where the dropped app is shown in combination with the target app. There could be possibility to simply adjust how much of each app is viewed at a time when the view is active.

Use cases:

  • Writing information from non copy-pastable source to another app
  • Viewing pictures etc while writing about them

Problems:

  • VKBD takes a lot of space -> KBDTOH solves this for some people

So it's an idea to consider, it would need probably some more thought to be practical, but it would definitely be something unlike other mobile systems.

How do you suggest I add the content of this to the question you're pointing at? also, I'm requesting this also for the phone, not just tablet, so I guess we could edit the other question to include it then
