Problem with headpphone jack detection

Ive recently had issues where when I plug headphone in the remove them the phone does not appear to realize they have been removed. I lose all sound through the speakers, however sound through the jack is fine, If I reboot I gain sound back. Ive not updated software in a while and will perform a reset to see if is software, but it may be something in the jack

I think it is a hardware issue, the pins the jack that detect removal are likely stuck or bad, have contacted care , i've tried cleaning the jack to no aval
