Configuring where Media app searches music etc.?

asked 2014-11-21 14:40:14 +0300

Currently Media App in Jolla does not see for example music synced via Younited, because the Media App only searches part of the system. By providing ways to configure where Media App searches for media, one (and especially average user) could use for example Younited to sync files etc. to Jolla device (even on Mac OS X and Linux). This kind of search configuration should be enabled also in other applications to make the synchronisation of files easier.

A potential workaround for people running Jolla in developer mode may be creating symbolic links, but this is not a solution for regular users wanting just to sync music and other media to their device.

Yes, please vote also for the more general approach in @schmittlauch's link above.

I think these are different things. you like to modify the gsettings key
org.freedesktop.Tracker.Miner.Files index-recursive-directories
with several directories
for schmittlauch it should be easier to modify the key
org.freedesktop.Tracker.Miner.Files ignored-directories-with-content
by adding a filename like '.noindex'

check: gsettings list-recursively

however, a gui for such modifications would be nice
