The instruction after the answer selected as correct comes without the warning. This could already lead to catastrophic consequences. Good thing my Jolla remained unharmed.

All needed warnings are there already if you carefully read...

And who should read carefully now?

@Bowmore: Well, the post has a long history and some of the ways have evolved, sure, but we keep them for documentation purposes. Not sure what warnings you'd like to see, you're the only one so far to raise a concern...

@eric: So you would like more users with broken phones?

Odorobo ( 2014-11-24 16:23:17 +0300 )edit

If you were to say user should take responsibility for what he does i would agree but paying with a phone when it it could be this easily prevented is too much. And btw the article you "update" does not work for everyone.

There is a warning right at the top, if people don't bother reading it, that's their own fault:

"Warning:

If you are using Recovery Mode with SailfishOS 1.0.8.19, 1.0.8.21, or even 1.1.0.38/39, running some features of the Recovery Mode are bound to break your device.

Please read all instructions provided in this article carefully, and please start with reading through the Known Issues section below."

@Bowmore: we do care, and provide the needed info AFAICS. Again, you're the only one reporting an issue here... Closing again.

The post in the thread is malicious by definition. Have it your way.
