I would love a time restriction for mail updating. At the moment, I leave mail running all the time for the updates, but it would be really great if I could specify a time/date range where it doesn't check for mail. ie. so that I don't get woken up by a spam mail at 2am.

Could we change the title to: "Enable setting of account-spesifc synchorinzation schedule" to make it reflect better the content of this feature-request (see my Answer that I just posted here) ?

Or just: "Enable the setting ot mail synchorinization schedule for each account" ?

@jjaone: done. You could do this with moderator rights by the way ;)

@eric@msknight Sure yeah, but thought it'd be better to ask first, cause there wasn't that much content in the question to infer exactly the scope and intention of the original poster ;)

@jjaone, @msknight: imho, it's all about the collaborative aspect and since your suggestion made a lot of sense, to accurately reflect what this idea/feature-request implies, I don't see any issue in contributing directly as long as we explain our actions...

This is at the moment only supported for Exchange ActiveSync(EAS) accounts, other accounts sync automaticly at fixed times(there's a know bug in system align timers that prevent this from work properly), but similar schedule options as EAS are planned for other email accounts.

Marked the question as roadmap as it is planned to implement an account specific behaviour.

Lets' call this feature account-spesific sync scheduler: (here is just a note about how this was implemented in N9).

Seems that for this an account-spesific synchronization schedule setting should be designed and implemented. E.g. in N9 the email-accs could be setup with very detailed schedule for peek-hours and days, and off-peak hours / days. Also, there was an option to enable/disable sync all-together or during those specified times.

So already in MeeGo it was working well, so why not in SailfishOS, too ;)

(Copied this from a queston that was marked as a dupiicate of this)

I want that the account sync is working for everything else also than just emails. My battery is now 25%!!! It would be good thing to have this time interval for IM's also. Mitakuuluu and facebook are constantly checking if someone send me message.

I miss Disable sync option in off-peak interval, though.
