After copying the simcard contacts to the phone I started to edit the contacts because the all the contact names were only shown as "nickname". I completed the contacts with first and second name and also add some other Informations such as adress or birthdate. Now, really over night when the phone was in flight mode, I lost in some cases the phone numbers of contacts I was editing before. They disappeared. This is pretty annoying! Any ideas what is wrong there?

Thank you for reporting this bug, I have reproduced and filed it to be fixed.

What is happening is that when you edit a contact from the SIM, the changes are stored in an adjunct record that is separate to the SIM contact itself, and is merged with it to produce a logical result. However, when the modem is turned off, the SIM contact is deleted, and then later recreated when the SIM is reactivated. Unfortunately, the link to the edit record is not re-established with the new SIM contact, so the changes appear to be lost.

I just ran into this bug, after the device complained about losing connection to the SIM all contacts imported from my SIM no longer have a phone number. I do not look forward to typing in a whole lot of phone numbers by hand, any time frame on a fix for this issue?

Edits to SIM contacts should be re-linked after flight mode is deactivated; fix released in 1.0.3.8
