I just loved when ever I took a picture on a Android phone or on a iPhone my pictures just automatically uploaded to my dropbox - or another online cloud solution... i would really love to do that on my Jolla too.

This is an excellent idea of having this feature; Dropbox is however not secure at all. It is also very much important that the server and its localisation is known (preferrably in a country where privacy is legally protected such as in Switzerland.
Ditto that Dropbox is the least secure, trusted provider. Box is slightly better, so is iOS cloud for that matter. But others exist like MEGA, etc that would be better suited because they don't scan your cloud data content (which Dropbox, Box and so forth does);

Yeah... I know... but perhaps some other form off upload? To a personal FTP Server, a Cloud solution like my very own ownCloud server.. I know that Dropbox is NOT secure, and I am only using my own ownCloud server. Dropbox was just a suggestion..

I'd suggest uploading the photos to ownCloud! Could be a followup of improved ownCloud integration. :)
I've been discussing this a bit with beidl, who has already started on an owncloud client. I plan on connecting to tracker to monitor for new pictures, and then uploading automatically (unless he implements something like that first).

A viable option for normal Jolla users needs to be created, probably in collaboration with some service partner.

Bumping up, since there is already some kind of cloud support built-in. At least some kind of batch uploading/sharing of photos from Gallery would be nice.

What i have been using to automatically sync my SFOS camera pictures with my Mac Book Pro is using syncthing.

On your laptop/desktop install:
1. Install native GUI and integrations or build packages yourself on GITHUB, https://syncthing.net/
2. Define folder to sync which will give it a unique folder ID on your phone;
3. On your laptop/desktop add the Jolla phone using the unique device ID;
4. The folder share will now automatically popup as something Jolla Phone wants to share with your laptop/desktop when you open synthing in the browser URL: https://localhost:8384/ or something like it;
5. After adding that shared folder in the laptop/desktop in settings you can define where it should save the information locally, so create a Jolla Sync Folder and adjust the path;
Now every time a file is placed in that folder on your Jolla Phone (camera pictures) or on your laptop/desktop the file will be synched to the other device in your devices list in SyncThing screen; Both devices have to be online with the service (syncthing running) active;
I use the same technology to also synch other folders so all my Jolla backups are saved on my laptop for example;
I already sold my soul to my cloud provider and it's weird for me that I can upload my photos manually one-by-one, but there is no automatic/batch upload available. At this point, you're probably a few lines of code away. I know, I can just use an Android app but it's really unreliable.

Do not get disturbed from the name digiKam: it simply means rsync to a remote directory on a machine You have ssh access to.
You need a little skill in bash editing.
