Sometimes people are somewhat less active or responsive, but they did give a valid and good answer (voted up and everything), perhaps people with sufficient karma can convert the comment into answer as well?

While we can definitely make an answer, it would be sad to steal karma away from someone else.

And now that answers can be changed into comment by the people themselves, the same question is now true for that as well. people with enough karma should be able to change comments to answers and answers to comments (even for other people)

AskBot/Together is not very consistent here, as people with enough Karma can edit posts, but comments to posts can only be edited by post owner or admin

@eric it's not actually duplicate... this is about possibility to change other people's answer into comments and vice versa... it's already possible for your own, but not for others

@eric ah, ok, but we have no way of knowing that :-) also, this is fine, but we still should edit the question and answer to reflect this knowledge and accept only if non-moderators are not allowed to do this... this question was about having people like myself doing this.
