Simple math, give us more hardware to play with, 11MP-Cam, Type4 CPU, 4GB RAM and please connect everything available NFC, IR, FMTX etc and honour referrals with $10 instead of $30, how about that?

And the question is? And if this is about getting different hardware I am pretty sure your simple math does not add up. There is a lot more to it than just BOM cost.

If a device is getting $2 more expensive to produce, 100eur are already 50 devices, ok lets say with all overhead $5 then every 100eur are 20 devices... now make that an antenna for NFC I doubt that this is more than $2 in the end, as the device needs band-testing already. So expecting like 20-30 devices being given away for free fro referrals this makes already the first perks... right?

@chemist: Nope not right. As I said it is a lot more than the BOM cost. So adding new features means pcb redesign, silk screen, testing, production line changes, stocking and sourcing of different parts, re-certification, eventual changes to the design of the shell/remolding, .... This takes lots of time and money. A lot more than $2 per device, and it can shift the tablet release significantly. It is also why the 3.5G perk limit is so high.

Ok, in those terms... I give up

Don't think much of what you said makes sense, as Phillippe hints at .. but regarding referrals, it's simply too late. They should have been available immediately. They'd have been a driver of sales. Now, with most interested parties already having pledged, there's little incentive to even try using them. Bizarre marketing decision IMO.
