Yesterday i do a factory reset. Now i want to create one account but its not working like before.

i try with this (with and without ignore SSL):

Username: name - Serveradress: serveradress - Port: 5222

Username: name - Serveradress: https://serveradress - Port:: 5222

Username: name@serveradress - Serveradress: "nothing" - Port:: 5222

Username: name@serveradress:PORT - Serveradress: "nothing" - Port:: 5222

Username: name - Serveradress: https://serveradress:PORT - Port:: 5222

and yes i try with all to change "Offline/Away" and than going Online.

Nothing works :( Thing is, that my account is not showing in Events-Page

EDIT: I dont know why, but now is it works! 1) creat a new account 2) Username: name@serveradress.xx + password 3) type NOTHING in server adress field 4) ignore ssl errors

done! I dont know why, but i really try this often, but now with 1.1.1.26/27 works! i see my account on event page

I had the same problem, new account did not show in Events. But it started working after a while. I don't know what made it working.

Same problem here. I cannot add my xmpp account. When I do configure it, it does not appear in the "Presence" View (Under "Controlled services"). I'm running 1.0.8.21

I created today an XMPP account and I experience the same problems. Till now it did not appear in the "Controlled services". I'm running 1.1.1.27. Some parts are unfortunately still beta software :-(

I can confirm that moving the servername to username helps (though I had to reboot). Unfortunately, it only works for one account, others are still dead.

For me, this seems to be an SSL error after all. Seems like the certificate used by dukgo.com is not accepted by Jolla anymore (worked fine before).

I used mc-tool to test:

Run these commands in terminal:

Get your XMPP-account’s number with:

mc-tool list

Then run this (replace XX with the number you got with mc-tool list):

mc-tool update gabble/jabber/jabber_XX bool:ignore-ssl-errors=true

Then reconnect (again with the correct number):

mc-tool reconnect gabble/jabber/jabber_XX

You can check the status with:

mc-tool show gabble/jabber/jabber_XX

Connecting with mc-tool does not change the status indicator and you’ll have to change it by hand.

@cvp What presences does the mc-tool show gabble/jabber/jabber_XX show (replace the XX with the number from mc-tool list)? If it shows available as current presence, you are connected even if the status windows shows differently. Then, the shown status should correct when you change between away/online in status window.

When you run that mc-tool show command, you should have the bool:ignore-ssl-errors=true option at the bottom of the outputs.

Your username should usually be name@server.com. Usually you don’t need to enter the server address manually.

And if it still does not work after these tips, check your password.

So, here's my understanding of the behavior :

Adding an XMPP account doesn't show it right away under the "presence details " But, switching from offline, to away to available seems to make it appears.

Also, after that success, I tried to uncheck the "Ignore SSL error" disconnected and reconnected. It all looks fine... until I rebooted.

Then because I'm using my own ssl certificate, it fails and again, the account isn't visible in the presence details anymore.

So back to the account, re-enabled "Ignore ssl error", rebooted and everything went back to normal.

It's been about 24 hours now, to be continued... (but I feel like this part of the OS needs a good bug-fixing / polish session)

Now I have had the account visible in Presense, but I cannot get it logged in. I have tried rebooting and switching to offline/away and meddling with the account settings. The same account works just fine on my PC.
