Since I've updated to Uitukka all of my Android apps and with mapping/geolocation API access are showing strange behavior. Either the location cannot be detected (in the BikeCityGuide app), or the position is not updated while driving (both in Nokia Here map and Google Maps).

In general, Android apps seem to be slower and the mapping apps have become unusable for me (actually switching back to my old Nexus 4 phone for now, since I use some of these apps on a daily basis).

Are other Sailors seeing the same problems? Can someone from the Jolla team comment, is that something which is going to be fixed with the next stable update?

I do not see a problem with GPS, at least nothing noticeable.

That being said, I do see issues with Android support, Skype fails to start sometimes and is rather slow. However, this is basically why Uitukka was opt-in. They explicitly said that such memory-related issues are known to exist (they did not limit it to Android, it makes sense though that starting the first Android app which pulls all kind of stuff into memory causes significant memory pressure). As their milestone for 10 is a better handling of memory pressure, I am looking forward to that update. :-)

Thanks for your answers. I've never seen this behavior before with earlier versions of Sailfish OS. Sometimes the position on the map is shifted by a few hundred meters, then it looks like the app does not pick up the location information correctly any more. My Jolla was sent in for repair, and the NFC chip had to be replaced. Maybe it is a hardware defect, then.

I see no problems with GPS in Uitukka, neither in Android nor in native apps. Do you have this behaviour just in Android apps or in native apps, too? Do you have AGPS enabled?
