Before launching in India, please add at least 2G support to the tablet so that many people can use it as a primary device just like N900. It is strange that people complain about big form factors and weight but don't hesitate to carry 2-3 devices with them at a time wherever they go !!! If 4G, 3G is not comming to the tablet because of no sufficient crowdfunding, then please add 2G support with headsets or earphones. I hope Jolla have that amount of thinking capability that why will a person take the tablet with him everywhere instead of using stupid internet by sittng at one place just because of Wi-Fi............ As you knew that a price cut will work here then why not to make a lot of people use it as their primary device by giving them the facility to call???????? Did you forget what was the advantage of N900???????

Tablets are not intended to replace phones, people usually don't carry them around while walking. You are supposed to share your Jolla Internet connection with your tablet via WiFi tethering, rather than activating two SIMs.

Adding GSM/cellular coverage requires extra certification which means additional costs and possible delays. Do you really want that?

I understand where this suggestion is coming from. India is a country where you can rarely see wifi hot spots outside the main cities. All the other regions will have to rely on 2G/3G . Yes people still use 2G and is the most inexpensive way to check internet for many parts of rural india whos cell phone towers don't have 3G enabled. Coming to the point of Jolla tablet , the tablet would be only useful for cities or towns for people who have their own wifi which is kind of a rarity in India. But Jolla tablet is not a device aimed at India.

As far as I understand, the basic issue is to support have a SIM card at all. 2G vs. 3G would be a detail that doesn't really count.

Jolla Roadmapping Meeting - Friday 16.01.2015

Thank you for your contribution to the Jolla Tablet project!

We receive a lot of ideas and suggestions, which we are grateful for, but all of them can't be implemented. We've reviewed your idea and unfortunately it is not something we can implement, at least right now.

However, we will keep all suggestions, and might revisit this decision in the future if we see an opportunity to implement this feature-request in an upcoming product/SW release.

Best regards,
The Jolla Tablet Team
