When adding MS Exchange account to Jolla, I noticed that most of those Mobile Device Security Policies is not supported in it. I think that for corporations most important policies are:

  • Require a password to access and configure the device
  • Set password expiration date, ofcourse it would be nice feature for all passwords or security codes
  • Wipe the device and storages remotely

More about those policies (which should be mandatory for usage Exchange in the phones): http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc182294.aspx

Could you however make your Exchange account work, despite not supporting these policies. I am not able to.

On first time there was some problems to configure, I couldn't send any mails. You should contact your Exchange administrator to get some information which is the problem.

I wonder which policy settings are now supported on the Jolla (1.0.4.20)? Our exchange server still does not accept my Jolla.

@alex25 - No need to wonder just check the release notes :)

"New Exchange ActiveSync policies introduced (lock time, minimum lock password length)"

@VDVsx - Great, thanks. And which ones are already supported in older firmwares? I try to find out which ones from our exchange setup are missing/not supported.

I too need these policies in any Exchange app. My provider will not allow me to use my Jolla with their Exchange server without them.

Must have password for access/config Must support Password expiry Must support remote wipe

Get that working and we have a winner!

Rob.
