Anroid app CalenGoo from Amazon syncs fine in both directions. You can add accounts, events etc. I thought this was not possible in Jolla? Only three problems in Jolla, works perfectly in Android phones:

-Time zone from Jolla does not show right. This is a problem with other apps too? - Reminders don't show up - Automatic sync dont work. But syncs manually and when started.

Otherwise I found the calendar very good. Actually the calender can already be used, missing reminders is the biggest problem.

A reasonable Google calendar is for me and many others an absolutely necessary feature in a phone. Without that Jolla cannot be the only phone for common user like me.

If its easy (??:) to make the needed enhancements to Jollas android support we could soon have usable google calendar.

Two way sync is not working in the native calendar. But good to know that the android version works.

I think most of the Android calendar apps use the native calendar which isn't available in Jolla for Android-apps and thus sync doesn't work. With GalenGoo you have the option to use Google cal directly. So you can for example add new events to Google cal. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for the tip. CalenGoo saved me. The native calendar is not usable right now with or without sync, it's simply terrible. CalenGoo worked fine so far. However it seems that Android apps have no access to the Sailfish alarms, i.e. reminders etc. do not work (by design). As a workaround I set the alarms for recurring events in the native clock app.

Thanks for the tip. I would have missed my appointment at the dentist today had they not sent me an SMS reminder yesterday. Unless the new update (which was to be released "early" this week - and today is Wednesday...) of SailfishOS provides rock solid Google Calendar integration I think I will have to install GalenGoo. I was going to install it immediately, but decided it is kind of stupid if the update this week fixes the problem.

The issues mentioned in the initial post are solved:

  • Reminders work fine
  • I do not experience time zone issues
  • Sync is possible in both direction using a CalDAV account with Google

Hi, Time zone issue has apparently been fixed.. CalenGoo used to be lagging 2 hours. It could easily be seen in day view, where the red line was 2 hours behind.

Now I could also use the reminders, but I can't get them workin. No sounds, no show ups. Am I missing something, do the reminders really work for you?
