When phone is not connected to Internet, opening a web page with browser or checking emails brings up the network connection dialog.

In earlier releases, this Internet connection dialog went away when connection was established and a "Connected" message was shown at the top.

In 1.1.1.26, the connection selection dialog stays on top of the apps even after WLAN connection is established, and must be manually tapped off to get back to the application.

Small thing but quite obvious change in UI.

I couldn't reproduce this. When clicking "mobile data" the popup just goes away.

Ah, indeed. With "mobile data" the dialog goes away as before, but not with WLAN. Happens every time when connection goes to a previously known wlan network on my Jolla which was updated from stable update 8 to 10.

I can confirm this. Dialog hides with mobile data, but not with WiFi.

I have exactly the same behavior but with update 8 (i don't get the new update yet). Sometimes i see that popup even when i have an active wi-fi connection.

Regression in a sense that it does not go away when wlan gets connected. However, the change was done due:

If the "internet connection popup" was opened through wlan-settings after enabling wlan and the device was in range of some previously known wlan ssid with autoconnect enabled the popup was closed immediately without users acknowledgement after being connected to that particular wlan ssid. This is bad UX and makes user wonder what happened.

Also it can be that user wants to use some other wlan ssid than the one which is available and autoconnectable.

Ok, then it was a planned change in the UI. Was it mentioned in release notes?

UI's are tricky. As a user I was expecting the old behavior of auto connection, and I was using it a lot.

Now I need the one extra tap. I usually disconnect my phone from networks through settings dialogs all the time after I don't use networking, and the use the apps to get the connection back.
