After installing 1.1.1.26 (coming from 1.1.0.38) Android app notifications aren't shown anymore. I've got the Android apps for Twitter, Facebook and Whatsapp installed. All those were able to send notifications to the notifications screen (swipe up thingie). Now they don't.

Can you reopen this one? I do have this problem with Whatsapp and Telegram. I don't know about other Android-apps yet. Telegram has been downloaded from the Yandex store, Whatsapp from their own site. I will check other apps when I have some time available.

I've reopened it since I have the same issue. On top of that there are sometimes* wrong times in sent messages in WhatsApp.

*there is still the "time-out issue" with messaging apps, so even WLAN is connected and working (e.g. Browser), after some time WhatsApp is not connected anymore, so I have to close and open it again to receive/send new messages. When opened (and thus connected) again it seems the certain "message-sent-time" has been taken from when the app was last online and not from the actual sending time as it should be and how it was before.

Hmm, now sometimes the notifications come through, but at other times they don't... This is the same for all apps together, so if whatsapp doesn't come through, telegram or games etc don't either.

Notifications appear for me although it does not ope the app. (whatsapp). If it persists, will file it as a new report.

Seems invalid. Did another reboot, updated some apps (via Google Play Store) and now I do get some notifications.

Notifications will only happen when background processes are not running, let see this example:

  • User has no apps open and opens Facebook app, a background process is started as well(sometimes these also start with alien dalvik, there no control at this point).

  • Memory of the device is not exceed, process keeps running and notifications are coming, all good.

  • User opens several other apps, doing normal device usage, OOM killer kicks in to release some memory and kills facebook daemon, no more notifications will come until user opens app again.

There's some room for improvement here, if user has more control of what is running in background from Android apps, user could create a optimal configuration keeping couple of these background processes running.

any way to run the background processes without opening the app? Or prevent the OOM killer to kill some selected processes? maybe we can set a higher priority via terminal, just guessing tho..
