Why is d.process.acore going crazy? [answered]

Hi,

since updating to 1.1.1.27 battery drain and hight cpu load started appear once again.

Checking with top I found a "d.process.acore" process to permanently cause 10-50% cpu load. Seems this process has something to do with the dalvik layer. Restarting dalvik does not help, neither does a reboot.

Any idea how to fix this?

what android applications and services do you have installed/running?

sandsmark ( 2014-12-22 17:14:39 +0300 )edit

Used often: Spotify Firefox

Used rarely: Twitter Facbook Sports Tracker Last Pass AccuWeather Evernote Docs to Go Here Beta Aptoide

None of those applications run.

but some of those applications have services that run in the background (which acore seems to handle). you could try temporarily uninstalling some of them to see if that helps? and is the CPU usage constant, or might it only be when they are running some syncs or something?

Was this found after a short time since the update was installed, or later as well?

Ok, after about 30 minutes the process seems to have cooled down...

@sandsmark Is there any log file that could tell which application causes this?

@simo not sure, I just checked this today after UI became laggy again.

You can check the actual thread consuming the CPU inside of top-command by pressing capital "H".

My guess would be that it is the contacts-sync from aliendalvik which will calm down after some time.

Thanks, I'll try this in the event that it happens again.
