i just got my poppy red toh and its not installing the ambience
it is not stuck in infinite installation - it is not installing at all. so when i attach the poppy red toh nothing at all happens. is there a way to force installing (by triggering the nfc to check for tohs or sth)?
i tried rebooting so far and several attachments - no change in behavior. im using sfos v1.1.1.27

so as a temporary solution for the nfc not working:
blow in the hole near the nfc antenna (see TOH where the nfc is). for me this worked and my nfc temporarily worked again :) hooray!!! - thanks @Mazoon
note that this can potentially worsen the problem. you can always send your jolla in for repair since this falls under the warrenty.

The grapevine did not lie:
0) do not do this if you want to cry if you break something. Contact care if in doubt.
1) Turn off your phone
2) Take out the TOH
3) Remove battery
4) Unscrew the eleven torx screws, might be a good idea to keep track which screw and from where.
5) Remove SD card, it will keep the middle plastic part connected to the front even if the screws are removed
6) remove the middle plastic part
7) clean the dirty areas near the NFC and connectors ( stuff like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isopropyl_alcohol )
8) wait a little
9) reverse engineer your device back together.
10) reboot your device
11) swap TOHs and see the magic.
YMMV.
After this, the ambiences change.
Edit: removed the irrelevant comment about custom ambience stuff.

If nothing happens, there might be an issue in recognizing the TOH. Have you checked that with CSD tools?
simo ( 2014-12-23 16:17:08 +0300 )editIt takes a while until it picks up TOH. On my Jolla it takes some seconds until there is a sound, and then a loong time until it starts the Jolla store to download the Ambiance (via WiFi).
