After upgrading from Tahkalampi to 1.1.1.27 yesterday, I twice saw the following behaviour today. I usually keep the following apps open in the background:

  1. Calendar
  2. Mail
  3. MeeCast
  4. Settings

As a fifth application, I started firefox and browsed the web for a while. Then I closed firefox by swiping from the top of the screen downwards to find all other apps except Settings have been closed. No idea where they went. After this happened a second time, I'm quite confident I didn't close them by accident.

The system is killing apps in the background because of low memory situation. It's a new feature in Tahkalampi meant to keep the user experience smooth when you're running out of memory. Though closing apps without asking/informing the user is not very good for user experience...

But this is already being discussed in https://together.jolla.com/question/72016/browser-and-oom-handling-with-update-10/, so I'm closing this as duplicate.

Erm.. OOM? Are you sure? With Tahkalampi I used to have those apps open all the time (and sometimes one or two more) and the system didn't get slow at all. Not while using firefox or fingerterm, or whatever I was doing...

Well I'm not sure, but that is the probable explanation. I haven't experienced this myself (haven't been using my Jolla as my primary phone), but other users have had the same experience as you: that there was no problem in earlier versions, but now apps are being closed in normal, not-that-heavy use. And Jolla has said that in 1.1.1.27 the OOM handling kicks in earlier.

But please continue the discussion in the thread I linked, this is closed as duplicate. :)

Yep, I went over there already. Looks like other people have the same issue. Thanks for your answer!
