People app: clean/refresh list of recently used contacts [answered]

In the People app, there is the list of recently used contacts at the top. But the contacts listed there are not deleted from that list, as it seems. The list is getting longer and longer, and is therefore of no good use. Additionally, you have to scroll everytime over it, to get the "normal" contacts listing (sorted by first letter). Ideally the "Recently used" list should be refreshed automatically (once a day or the like), to get rid of contacts that were only used once for example. Is there a way to wipe out that list by hand?

Surely it is a pre-requisite for privacy to be able to remove singular or multiple "recent" entries in the People app. It was easy enough to do on n900. I would even welcome an option to disable having a "Recent" list as I never use it.

I have just noticed (on 2.0.0.10), that this list (recently used contacts in PEOPLE) can be cleaned via removing the respective entries from the "recently used contacts" list in PHONE. In fact, it is the same list content.
