Could be a bug, could be a feature, could just be coincidence... But since I installed Vaarainjärvi, I have not received one single update for applications I have already installed. (Although I see new applications in the store every now and then.)

This wouldn't be so strange in itself - maybe developers just aren't as active as usual during the holiday season - but also the behaviour of the store changed compared to previous versions (including Uitukka):

Before Vaarainjärvi, when I went to the "My applications" page in the store client, I could watch the list grow as applications were sorted alphabetically. Every now and then, sometimes only after a few seconds, one of the apps would be pushed on top of the list because there was an update available.

Now, when I open "My applications", everything's right there, the list is static and doesn't give the impression of anything's being even checked for updates. Is this supposed to be a feature like "Don't confuse user with dynamic list"? (Didn't find anything about it in the release notes.) Or does it mean what it seems to say: store never checks for updates?

Well I remember to read that the performance of the Jolla Store was improved in the release notes.. So I think this is the cause (feature) of this 'static list' behaviour. :) And regarding of not receiving updates or missing/ empty MyApps-list (which your are not experiencing as it seems) you should update your Jolla Acc credentials.

Sometimes I don't trust the stores too, neither jolla nor warehouse. In such cases I use pkcon as root, pkcon refresh forces to refresh the list, pkcon update proceeds. Sometimes with surprising results, sometimes not.

@Robomike thanks for reminding me about pkcon. After a pkcon refresh I did a pkcon get-updates with the following results:

Getting updates
Waiting in queue
Starting
Querying
Refreshing software list
Enhancement harbour-cargodock-0.2.2.1-1.armv7hl A two-paned filemanager.
Enhancement sailfish-utilities-all-translations-pack-0.0.1-10.2.1.jolla.noarch Collection of all sailfish-utilities translations in one binary rpm

So there are updates available that the store chooses to ignore. Now let's see what Jolla Store tells me when I select Cargo Dock from "My Applications":

It does not tell me about an update at the top of the page. At the bottom though, where it shows the changelogs etc., it tells me:

Version: 0.2.2
Installed: 0.2.2
Changelog Version 0.2.2.1: .....

And pkcon reveals that I have 0.2.2-1 installed while 0.2.2.1-1 is available.

The situation is similar with sailfish-utilities-all-translations-pack: I have version sailfish-utilities-all-translations-pack-0.0.1-10.1.1 while pkcon lists sailfish-utilities-all-translations-pack-0.0.1-10.2.1 as available.

Seems like the store happily ignores all information in a Major.Minor.Patch numbering scheme that comes after the patch... so for the store client 0.2.2 is equal to 0.2.2.1.

Now I know that in fact I was right and there's something wrong with the store... I still don't know, though, if I ruined the store on my device or if this is a real bug.

Do any of you have Cargo Dock installed? Can you check if Jolla Store offers an update to 0.2.2.1?

I do not have one but Jolla store alerted me about updating 2-3 programs for 2 months i have the phone. Strange indeed.

For me the Store informs in Cargo Docks app page: "Version: 0.2.2 Installed: 0.2.2.1", the latter being also the version number that Cargo Docs app itself reports in the About page. So, no Store probs here, at least ;) Maybe u are suffereing of some auth or connectivity problems that csuse those mismatches u reported. Anyways the Store page of Cargo Docks in my case too is strange because the Version info is lower than the Installed one..

For Cargo Dock the store backend had a wrong version number, but it is fixed now. The Cargo Dock update was submitted already in June, and I think the version parsing bug has been fixed since, so this should not happen for any new applications.

The sailfish-utilities-all-translations-pack update is a known issue.

The My Applications behavior change is expected, it fetches the installed application and update information in the background now.

The My Applications behavior change is expected

Ah, very nice. So it was a coincidence that I noticed the new "My apps" behaviour and the missing Cargo Dock update at the same time. :)

Good to know it "works as expected" and there's no problem on my side. Cargo Dock appeared as an update literally minutes ago.
