Unable to authorize Android app in browser — browser protocol error

Some Android apps use the browser to authenticate the app, but trying to authenticate gives a protocol error something along the lines of "the protocol YOURAPPTHING is not supported" and it then never returns back to the app to complete the authorization process.

This stands true for all applications I've tried (mostly Twitter apps but there was one other app).

Any way to fix this? I tried this in the Nightly browser and the Webcat browser, same result. The apps also don't seem to accept authorization any other way than through the browser.

Seconded! Another example scenario is this: Trying to get YNAB (You Need A Budget) authenticate with dropbox. It opens the browser and I login, but the authentication doesn't get back to the YNAB app on the phone. In the YNAB preferences on my desktop I see the phone as an authenticated device.

Hi, I had the same problem with the YNAB / Dropbox authentication. As you've mentioned YNAB would go to the browser version of Dropbox to attempt authentication and just hang up. I downloaded the Dropbox app from the Aptoide store and everything then worked fine. I now have fully functioning YNAB on my beloved Jolla. The most crucial app (in my opinion) on the best phone i've ever owned!

Hope this helps.....
