This can be a stupid question.

My /home have 5.026.460 bytes used, and /home/nemo/.vault have 4.764.192 bytes used, +/- the 95% of the used space.

Can we safely clean this directory ?

In addition to the Answers given below, if you only have 5M of stuff on your /home there is no need to remove anything cause the storage space of Jolla 16 GB, so in practice your Jolla is completely empty (probably a pristine new device with nothing installed or stored in it).

Thanks for the note. I think it this much better to move the contents of the .vault directory to another one in the SD an make a symlynk to .vault directory. A way to discard the SD in the backup utility ?

BTW: Settings > System > Backup utility does not backup contents of the external card in any case, and the apps/contents can be selected while doing the backup.

.vault is where your backups are stored. You can remove backups from the settings menu, or remove them all at once by removing the .vault directory. Removing .vault has no negative consequences (except that you'll lose the backups of course).

The new utility app provides a way to remove all backups as well, just FYI.

No need to move the .vault directory anywhere from the device. If it is removed the system will create it on reboot. If you want to keep all your backups (i e. the contents of the .vault) in the external memory card there is sn option in System > Bsckup utility to move all backups to card and then use Jolla Utilities to renove backups from device .vault directory. Much safer than moving and erasing backup files and folders around or creating symlinks to SD card that may or may not be present at any time.
