If found in mcetool that the jolla phone has a Power saving mode anyone tried it?

my mcetool output:

[root@Jolla nemo]# mcetool

MCE status:
-----------
 (cut some unimportant stuff out)
Power saving mode: disabled (inactive)
Forced power saving mode: disabled
PSM threshold: 20 (%)

I asked Jolla they said:

"I found in mcetool that there's a power save mode what does this do?"

This festure has not been released on Jolla yet.

Edit (19.11. by jollailija) Any news on this? Has anyone found out what this does? At least it gives a notification and changes battery symbol to a leaf (cool cool).

Looks good, never used that. My battery life on the Jolla is without any saving mode AWESOME like hell. A Special would be cool to, to get the three days of battery life completed :-)

I hope they will release this soon, with power save options in the settings, so you can select what you want to disable. My batterylife is miserable, I have to charge my phone during each workday!

Basicly I hope there would be settings options which would let me adjust powersaving the way I like to. It would be nice to try similar settings as in Sony stamina mode. My friend has one and he for example tooked phone frome charge at morning, listened few hours of voicebooks, called few phonecall and _next__day_ (evening)he visited me, he still got almost 50% left on battery!! In Stamina mode sony disables all data connections and opens it as soon as you open screenlock. So WhatsApp messages, e-mails etc won't give notice before you think now I have time to use phone for a while, I'll open the screen lock. If someone has to catch him immediately, they just call or send sms. I think that's fair trade if you got that much longer battery life.

My battery life, after almost 2 years of daily use as a main phone, is still very good. If I don't use too much internet and android application I can easy pass 2 days of use

I do not think mcetool is included in the latest release (2.0), anyway if you have it installed, you can enable the low power mode with the following command:

mcetool --set-low-power-mode=enabled

I changed my ssu release to an earlier version to install mcetool some months ago

On Openrepos.net you can find a settings GUI: Jolla Powersave Settings by Coderus

I installed it today and the powersave mode works awesome but I don't know what it exactly does (that's up to Jolla).

I have downloaded powersave settings fron openrepos but couldn't install. Why some of the patches are not installing and what are the things to be checked before going for patches.
