Dear All,

I've been (and I am) Sygic CPS naviation on N900. Several months ago I've bought new version of Sygic on android and installed it on jolla. The problem I have is that Sygic keeps asking for an internet connection all the time, what basically means that I cannot see the map and directions (but I can hear them) because I have this dialogue screen all the time asking where to connect. I touch to switch it off and a few seconds later it is back. I've tried to find a setting, but there is nothing relevant. I had a look into configuration file: maybe there is something there, but I don't know. I see people are using Sygic for navigation - does anyone have a similar problem? I've send question to Sygic 2 weeks ago but no answer...

I have no prolbem with Sygic, I have an account and when Sygic start I choose if I want to be connected to my account or not. The only problem is the fake IMEI used by Jolla for android app so I must write the real in settings.ini file. Do you buy Sygic and activate it?

I have the same problem as you. Old and new Sygic versions behaves exactly the same on sailfish 1.1.1.27 - asks for internet connection. On version 1.0.8.19 Sygic was working properly, hence hardware screen was not showing any satellites ;(:(:(. Both versions are working properly on android phone. I purchased Sygic and activated it long time ago ;):):)

I have bouht Sygic and activated it. What exactly you do with IMEI? I have not done anything like that, so maybe this is the source of the problem I have?

Hi. In the meantime I've tried HERE maps on jolla and on Nexus 7 android tablet. The same version. On Nexus 7 I can navigate offline. On jolla I get this "connection dialog box" all the time again. As in sygic. Well, I have to carry this horribly slow google tablet with me because I don't manage to get offline navigation to work on my jolla phone... hmmm... hope this situation will change!!!

I use Sygic for navigation and I'm really pleased with it. Especially together with Spotify playing in the background over my bluetooth carkit.

The connection dialog is showing up when there is no data connection and the phone is not in flight mode. You can try to enable the data connection or activate flight mode to suppress the connection dialog.

You do not need data connection for navigation on Android. Why should you need it on sailfish?

I agree and see the solution as a workaround.

The actual problem is: When Android applications test for a data connection, the connection dialog is shown if there is no data connection and flight mode is not active.

Such behaviour was not present on 1.0.8.19 as sygic was working normally. Could we mark this issue as a bug. Proposed workaround is not acceptable as phone function is needed too ;):):)

After more searching, I think this topic is a duplicate of: https://together.jolla.com/question/52421/disable-connection-dialog/

That means that this issues is not fixed since July and android off-line navigation systems should not be used on Jolla phone?
